Dr. Mitchell Bebel Stargrove

Naturopathic physician and acupuncturist

Mitchell Bebel Stargrove, N.D., L.Ac./CA, earned his B.A. (History and Government) from Oberlin College in 1979, his acupuncture diploma from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in 1987 and his naturopathic physician degree (N.D.) from National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in 1988. He is licensed as an acupuncturist and naturopathic physician in Oregon and practices with Dr. Lori Beth Stargrove at A WellSpring of Natural Health, Inc. in Beaverton. Since 1990 he has taught History of Medicine at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (1993-2022), National College of Naturopathic Medicine (1990-1993) and National University of Natural Medicine (2022 to present). He is the editor and co-author of Herb, Nutrient, and Drug Interactions: Clinical Implications and Therapeutic Strategies (MosbyElsevier 2008), the landmark professional reference work in this critical field. He coordinated development of, and compiled the acupuncture section for, the Integrative BodyMind Information System (IBIS), the pioneering multidisciplinary electronic encyclopedia for practitioners of integrative medicine and natural therapeutics, published in 1993, and is Editor-in-Chief of InteractionsGuide. In addition, he is Chief Medical Officer of MedicineWorks.com, a division of Health Resources Unlimited, Inc., as well as a founder and board member of the Alchemical Medicine Research and Teaching Association (AMR’TA, Inc.). Dr. Stargrove is lead history editor of and a contributing author to the Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine text (in press) and Lead Author and Co-Editor of Nature’s Physicians Through the Ages – A Timeline History of Natural Medicine and the Formation of Naturopathic Medicine as a Profession (naturesmedicinethroughtime.org).

In August 2012, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians presented him with the Vis Medicatrix Naturae award in recognition of his activities as a “naturopathic physician who represents the healing power of nature as demonstrated through work, life and community service”. In 2015 Dr. Stargrove was invited to be a founding member of the Naturopathic Council of Elders. The Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians and National University of Natural Medicine honored Dr. Stargrove with the Living Legend Award in December 2017.

Dr. Lori Beth Stargrove

Naturopathic physician

Lori Beth Stargrove, N.D., earned her B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota in 1981 and her doctoral degree (N.D.) in Naturopathic Medicine from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1991. Dr. Stargrove is clinic director of A WellSpring of Natural Health, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon. She coordinated the development of the nutrition section for the Integrative BodyMind Information System (IBIS) and served as project manager for Herb, Nutrient, and Drug Interactions: Clinical Implications and Therapeutic Strategies (MosbyElsevier 2008). In addition, she is Chief Health Officer of MedicineWorks.com, a division of Health Resources Unlimited, Inc., as well as a founder and board member of the Alchemical Medicine Research and Teaching Association (AMR’TA). She served on the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Examiners from 2001-2007. 

In addition to running Health Resources Unlimited, Inc. and VitalGoods, Drs. Mitch and Lori teach therapeutic strategies in person-centered collaborative care and explore embodied methods of self-healing, co-creativity and respectful living.
